Jason and Cristen Gray
Jason was born in Canada, has citizenship in the U.K. (thanks to his British parents), and became a U.S. citizen in March 2002. He grew up in Morgan Hill, CA and went to university at San Jose State University studying meteorology (weather). He worked for a few years in that field until, like many, talking about the weather just seemed like small talk. He went back to school to get his teaching credential in history and finished that up in 2005.
Cristen was born in Dallas, Texas. She went to college at Dallas Baptist University studying music education with a choral emphasis. In late 1997 she moved to California and met Jason. (Need anymore be said?) Well, ok, while there she was a salesperson for Maytag, taught children and managed the office at a small private music school, directed youth church choirs and youth groups, and assisted in the worship ministry at our home church of South Hills Community Church in San Jose.
Jason and Cristen Gray were married on September 16, 2000.
A year ago they returned from serving with Mercy Ships onboard the M/V Anastasis, a Christian hospital ship. Following the example of Jesus, Mercy Ships brings hope and healing to the poor, mobilizing people and resources worldwide. Jason was working as a teacher on board, teaching upper grades: Local History, Algebra II, Physics, Geography, and Computers to the elementary kids. Cristen was working as the personal assistant to the Director of Operations. The ship is presently in port in Liberia, Western Africa.
They have now returned to the States and are living in Texas. Check out recent news and photos to find out (link above)!
